In the late afternoon Station 53 was dispatched to an auto accident involving multiple vehicles with entrapment. Upon the medics arrival they requested two helicopters and addtional ambulances and medics. Upon Rescue 53's arrival, they extricated patient that was being flown. Station 51 assisted with LZ and all other 53 units cleared shortly after. The police are investigating.

ANNIVERSARY NIGHT 2008

The Fame celebrated their 170th Birthday with their annual Anniversary Night. With a crowd of around 100 people awards were handed out, food was consumed and shuffle board and pool tournaments were started. Congratulations to all the following people on the awards and accomplishment they received.

WORKING BUILDING IN BORO

On a cold February morning, Station 53 along with Station 52 and 55 were dispatched to the area of E. Gay St and N. Matlack St. in the borough of West Chester for a reported building fire with smoke coming from the eves. Shortly after dispatch the call was upgraded to a working fire, bringing Station 51 for the RIT assignment. Ladder 53 was first on scene and ordered to open the roof while Engine 52's crew made progress on the interior operations. The fire was contained to a small portion of the building. Units cleared with 2 hours. The fire is still under investigation.
STATION 53 ASSIST WITH FATAL FIRE

In the early morning hours of February 11, Engine 53 was dispatched to assist Station 54 with a working dwelling fire. Early reports had it coming in as a smoke investigation with it shortly being upgraded to a working fire. In addition to E-53, Station 52 was dispatched for their two Engines and Air/Light truck. WCFD crews assisted with fire attack as well as extensive overhauling. Unfortunately there was one civilian fatality.
ANOTHER FRIDAY, ANOTHER FIRE .....

On the morning hours of February 8, the Fame Fire Company as well as Station 51 were dispatched to a report of a dwelling fire. While en route, the assignment had gotten upgraded to a working fire with the building being evacuated. With the upgrade to the assignment, Station 52 was dispatched to be RIT. Eng 51 and Ladder 53 arrived on scene to find a 3 story dwelling with smoke showing from the second floor. Engine 51 crew went into service with an 1 3/4" line while Ladder 53 did exterior work and interior searches. The fire was contained to one room, which was under construction. All units cleared within 2 hours.
