BOARD OF FIREFIGHTERS THANKSGIVING

On the Eve of Thanksgiving the members of the Fame gather to give thanks for what we have and to look back on the year. Members were treated to an excellent dinner and dessert. Quickly following the dinner members held Washer, Poker and Shuffle Board tournaments into the night. Thanks PJ and Janice for another great meal!

Congratulation to the Fame's Firefighter of the Year, Chris Corcoran.  Chris was selected by his peers to win at the WCFD Annual Firefighter Banquet. Chris has quickly gone up the ranks within the last 12 months from an Apprentice Firefighter to currently as a 2nd Class Firefighter. From everyone at the Fame, Congratulations Chris ! ANNUAL TURKEY RAFFLE

Turkey ! Turkey ! Turkey !.  The Fame Fire Company held its annual Turkey Raffle with about 100 people in attendance.  This years turkeys ranged from 17 lbs up to 24 lbs.  In addition to Turkeys guests could also win cash prizes.  Thanks to all that helped make this years Turkey Raffle another success. 


BURN DRILL

On a nice fall evening Station 53 conducted it's finally burn drill for the year.  The Station made its way down the the WCFTC where 3 mock-up situations had been placed. This night was also intended for members upgrading to either 2nd or 3rd Class. Congratulations to Joe Solecki for getting quilified on E-53 and also Dan Wojton and Zach Valko for becoming 3rd Class.


CAR INTO BUILDING WITH FIRE

Station 53 as well as Station 52 were dispatched to High Street and Miner Street to an auto accident into a building with possible fire. 53 units quickly responded from the fire school to assist with the call. Chief 53 and Assistant 53 both arrived on scene as well as Tanker 53. Chief 53 quickly held the call to Tanker 53 and Engine 53 for battery disconnects and general cleanup. All 53 units cleared shortly after.

ENTRAPMENT ON HIGH STREET

At  9 am Station 53 was dispatched to assist Ambulance 55 and Medic 91 already on location at High St. and Marshall St..  Assistant 53 arrived on scene advised Rescue 53 three cars were involved with one needing to extricated. Rescue 53 went into service with extricating the victim and turned over to 55 and 91. All 53 Units cleared. Accident is still under investigation.
