Station 53 as well as 52 & 55 were dispatched to an auto accident reported serious. Upon arrival Chief 53 reported two cars, head on with 2 people trapped with one in the roadway. Rescue 53 arrived on scene and began extricating the victims All victims were transported to local hospitals. Cause of the accident is due to one driver traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Route 202.

W.C.F.D. FIRE PREVENTION DAY

This weekend the WCFD held its annual Fire Prevention Day at the WCFD Training Center. With a beautiful fall day, the event went off without a hitch. This years event included a Live Burn Session, Live Car Fire, Auto Extrication Drills, PennStar Helicopter, HAZMAT 15, SWAT Team demonstrations and much more.
LARGE AREA SEARCH
On Thursday, October 18, the Fame Fire Company conducted it drill at Sartomer Chemical Company. The purpose of this drill was to familiarize ourselves with large area searches as well as little things like rope management. For this drill everyone was utilizing their SCBA as well as completely blind folded. This was done to give a more realistic perspective in what they may encounter. These type buildings are invaluable as a training ground as they provide a vast arrange of obstacles and challenges. As well as the drill, the fire company received a guided tour of the facility and emergency operations.
BUS FIRE ON PHOENIXVILLE PIKE
On a nice fall afternoon, Tanker 53 was dispatched to assist Station 52 with a bus fire. The original dispatch indicated that is was a school bus, but later reports alerted the county it was a mass transit bus. Everyone exited the bus without injury. The bus was a complete loss.
The Fame Fire Company was dispatched to assist Ambulance 55 with a helicopter landing. Once confirming there was a flight, Station 53 responded with Engine 53 and Squad 53 to establish the LZ which was on the rugby field. 53's crews assisted with 55 patient care. Victim was flown by SkyCare to Philadelphia.
