At 2312 hours, CCFR dispatched Delco Station 59 (Concordville) along with Station 53 for the RIT and Station 25 for an engine for a reported house fire on the 1300 Block of Birmingham Road. The initial caller indicated that there was fire coming from the rear of the house and an additional caller stated that an individual was still inside. Rescue 59 arrived and laid up the driveway and began initial fire suppression and search and rescue. Engine 53 was second in and picked up the lay and provided Rescue 59 with tank water. At this time Ladder 25 (Longwood) took the driveway and assisted with search and rescue of the occupant who was removed a short time later. Engine 53's officer was re-assigned to take Water Supply Operations due to the lack of hydrants and the remaining crew advanced up and relieved the first in crews performing fire suppression, salvage and overhaul on the second floor. Two portable ponds were established to the rear of Engine 53 to help maintain a constant supply of water to the scene. Engine 53 operated at the scene until 0330 hours. County and State FMs are investigating.
