Crews worked hard today to transfer equipment from our 20+ year old Saulsbury heavy rescue truck to our 2017 CustomFIRE Apparatus/Spartan heavy rescue. It took only seven days to place this truck into service. This has been the culmination of more than two years of work by the rescue committee. Several manufacturers were interviewed and CustomFIRE Apparatus was selected. A great deal of thought and customization went into the design of the truck. The craftsmen at CustomFIRE apparatus were wonderful to work with and their skill is evident in this truck. This specialized apparatus was funded and will be maintained by the Borough of West Chester. We look forward to many years of service with our new Rescue.
