On a very cold Saturday morning, 9 members participated in our monthly Technical Rescue Training held at the West Chester Fire Department Training Center. Crews reviewed the set up and operation of the Stanley System for concrete cutting and breaching/breaking. Crews practiced techniques on the collapse rubble pile. Once the equipment was stowed and the temperatures were a little warmer, crews set up and rigged the Paratech Monopod kit carried on Rescue 53. Crews lifted several heavy objects out of a confined area using a pre-rigged 4:1 rope mechanical advantage and a change of direction pulley. It was a cold, fun day of practice.
