Dwelling Fire in Westtown Township

Box 5309 was struck for a dwelling fire in the 900 block of Norwood Road, Westtown Twp. Westtown-East Goshen (WEGO) Regional Police reported fire showing from the roof of the dwelling. Ladder 53, along with Engine 51-2 and Engine 51-1 responded quickly. Other WCFD units followed closely behind. Ladder 53 and Engine 51-2 arrived simultaneously. The Engine Company secured a continuous water supply from a nearby hydrant, while Ladder 53's crew split and went to work. No occupants were found at home. Fire was located in the room and attic space on the right hand side of the dwelling. Crews made an aggressive, coordinated interior attack. Ladder 53's Roof Team opened up the roof near the seat of the fire. Additional WCFD were put to work opening up walls and ceilings to check for any fire extension. Crews performed extensive overhaul. Captain 51 (J. McClure) was the Incident Commander. There were no FD injuries. The Chester County FMO and WEGO PD are investigating the cause.
