In the days leading up to Christmas, the volunteers at Fame and the entire West Chester Fire Department were kept busy. Crews assisted Station 39 (West Bradford) and operated at two working house fires in less than 24 hours in West Bradford Township.

On Saturday afternoon, December 23rd, fire units from WCFD were dispatched to assist Station 39 for a dwelling fire in the Appleville section of West Bradford Twp. Rescue 53 served as the Rapid Intervention Team while other companies performed fire suppression and overhaul on a mobile home fire. Rescue 53's crew was on scene for about an hour.

Just after 6 am on Christmas Eve morning, crews were alerted to assist Station 39 on a dwelling fire in the Marshallton section of West Bradford Township. Ladder 53 was dispatched as the truck company on the alarm and operated for several hours. Delaware County Tower 59 (Concordville) was relocated to Fame to cover the WCFD area while Ladder 53 was committed.

Thankfully things quieted down and our members were able to enjoy a peaceful Christmas Day with family.
