Early Morning Accident with Entrapment

At 0544 hours, Station 53 along with MICU 55 (Good Fellowship Ambulance Club) were dispatched to SB 202 and Matlack St for the reported vehicle accident with entrapment. Rescue 53 went responding and was advised by CCFR of a three vehicle accident involving a dump truck, box truck and sedan with one person heavily entrapped. At this time Captain 53 (S. McDonald) established Rt. 202 Command.

Engine 53 arrived and assisted the Rescue with stabilization and both crews worked to free the trapped subject. Crews removed the passenger door, performed a dash lift, and removed the steering wheel to disentangle the victim. Once freed, the victim was transferred over to MICU 55 who rendered care. The patient was successfully extricated 20 minutes from the time of dispatch.

WCFD Fire Police assisted with traffic control.

West Goshen Township PD is investigating the crash.
