This week’s drill was held at an acquired structure in the Radley Run section of Birmingham Twp. The new owner offered the property to the West Chester Fire Department for training prior to demolition. The large multi-story single family dwelling offered numerous opportunities for training.

Crews focused on vertical ventilation using roof ladders and the aerial ladder. Members practiced ventilating steep inclines and cedar shake roofs. Inside, newer members practiced overhauls techniques and firefighter self rescue.

We thank the property owner for the unique opportunity to provide realistic training conditions.
