This morning at 0750 hrs, Stations 51 and 53 were alerted to the area of Downingtown Pike and Frank Rd for the Accident with Entrapment. Ambulance 56 was already on location and reported one patient trapped. Rescue 53 responded and arrived and stabilized the vehicle and removed the driver side doors. Engine 51-2 arrived and stretched a hand line for fire protection and assisted the Rescue crew. Engine 53 arrived shortly after and provided additional manpower and controlled the hazards. The patient was extricated and transferred care to EMS on scene. West Chester Fire Police and Goshen Fire Police assisted with traffic control.
All units were available shortly after 0830 hrs however the road remained closed for several hours while the West Chester Borough Police department investigated the cause.
