This evening around 5 pm, units from Twin Valley FD (Station 69), Elverson EMS (Station 89) and Medic 93 (Brandywine Hospital ALS) were dispatched to the quarry on St. Peter's Road in Warwick Twp. Chief 69 was advised that a victim had fallen approximately 25 feet and was injured on rocks adjacent to the waterline. He requested the Chester County Rescue Task Force for the High Angle Team. Rescue 53, with 5 rope rescue technicians and several support personnel made the response. Once on scene, Rescue 53's crew worked alongside other CCRTF crews from Lionville (Station 47), Valley Forge (Station 68) and Medic 2 (Berwyn) in establishing a haul and belay rope system. Rope technicians from 47 and 53 assisted EMS with patient packaging. The victim was moved to the roadway using manpower and rope. He was transported to an awaiting helicopter and was air lifted to a Philadelphia trauma center for care. Units cleared the scene around 6pm.
