Shortly after 4 pm today, Rescue 53 and Medic 91 (Chester County Hospital) were alerted to assist Ambulance 55 (Good Fellowship EMS) at an accident with entrapment in the 1300 block of Westtown-Thornton Rd. in Thornbury Twp. Rescue 53 responded with a crew of six rescue technicians. Crews arrived to find a two-vehicle accident with one vehicle off of the roadway and heavily damaged. The female drive was trapped inside. The Rescue crew went to work stabilizing the vehicle and then removing the vehicle from around the victim. All the while, EMS crews also provided life saving care. Once extricated, the victim was transported to Paoli Hospital Trauma Center. Chief 51 (McClure) was the incident commander. We wish the victim a speedy recovery.
