FAME ACHIEVES LEVEL 2 WATER RESCUE ACCREDITATION

EMERGENCY BOAT OPERATION

 

In March 2008 members from Fame Fire Company joined members from Longwood Fire Company and Kennett Fire Company at a PA Water Rescue Emergency Boat Operations and Rescue class hosted by Kennett Fire Company and conducted by White Cap Rescue Training.  The in water portion of the class was conducted on the Susquehanna River in Columbia, PA.  Fame firefighters were trained in advanced emergency boat operations and rescue techniques.  At the conclusion of the training Fame Fire Company completed the requirements to be recognized as an Accredited Agency in Boat Operations and Rescue. 

At the same time Kennett Fire Company also received level 2 Accreditation.  There are only 16 organizations state wide that have been accredited in Emergency Boat Operations and Rescue.

Lt. Jim McCabe, Scott Davis, Bob Torrens, Sean McCausland, P.J. Rudolph and Greg Witmer

 Also, in March, members from Fame traveled to Paradise, PA to attend a PA Water Rescue Advanced Line Systems.  Fame Firefighters were trained in advanced line systems and direct contact rescue techniques.
