Surface Water Rescue applies the ability to rescue or recover victims in danger involving small and large bodies of water. Rescuers are tested on their ability to swim and must prove confidence in, on, or around water. In order to reach technician level, it is also required to tread in deep water while wearing a life jacket. Rescuers are trained in management, recognition, and prevention of drowning and injuring, along with knowledge of survival procedures, principles, and safety. Fame Fire Company responds to all dispatches in the Central & East fire district.
