At 0900 hours, Station 55 Ambulance was dispatched to the area of Rt. 322 and McCardle Dr for the report of an accident with unknown injuries. At 0906 hours, police had arrived and updated that the car was overturned into a ditch 30 feet down off the roadway, and county upgraded the assignment adding Station 53 and Medic 91. Asst. 53 and Chief 53 arrived and confirmed the report with one subject trapped in the vehicle. Rescue 53 arrived and used an extension ladder to gain access down to the patient. Crews the utilized cribbing and Paratech Struts to stabilize the vehicle. Engine 53 arrived and provided its manpower to get extra equipment down the embankment to the scene. Rescue crews, in conjunction with the Medic, removed the passenger side doors to gain access to the patient. Once the patient was removed, they were loaded into a stokes basket and hauled up the steep grade. The patient was transported to Paoli Hospital for treatment. Total extrication time: 16 minutes.
