Dwelling Fire on West Chestnut Street

WCFD units (51,53) and Good Fellowship EMS (55) were dispatched early on Friday morning to the 200 block of West Chestnut Street in the Borough for a reported dwelling fire. Assistant 51 (Pelna) arrived and reported fire showing from an occupied 3 story brick twin dwelling and requested the Working Fire Dispatch bringing Station 52, Medic 91 and Station 54/56 (Goshen) for RIT. Engine 51-1 and Ladder 53 arrived quickly and went to work. Fire was located in a kitchen area and quickly extinguished by 51 crews, while Ladder 53 split and conducted searches and threw multiple portable ladders. Additional crews provided manpower and checked for fire extension. The fire was placed under control by the Incident Commander, Assistant 52 (Stafford) within 15 minutes of FD arrival. The cause of the fire is being investigated by WCPD and Chester County FMO.
