During our November monthly technical rescue training, rescuers were tasked with stabilizing a passenger vehicle and gaining patient access in a four foot deep trench. After establishing safety zones and deploying ground pads, our rescuers used a griphoist to quickly anchor the vehicle. They then gained patient access by using an airbag. Crews made a modified trench panel and secured the patient area using struts and even tested the use of telescoping ram. The training tested our rescue technician's ability to think outside of the box and develop multiple courses of action.
