Last year, Fame bolstered it's staff of Technical Search Specialists when Technicians Liz Fix, Martin Helmke and Jim Leon attended a 50 hour FEMA equivalent Disaster Technical Search Specialist training class held at the world famous Disaster City at Texas A&M University Extension Service (TEEX) in College Station, TX. Members trained alongside rescuers from fire departments and USAR task forces from across the US and Canada. This week, TEEX published their latest video on YouTube highlighting this technical class and several Fame technicians are seen in the footage.

Fame currently staffs eight Technical Search Specialists and carries specialized equipment, like the SearchCam 3000, Hasty Search Kit and Delsar Listening System, on Rescue 53. The equipment is used to detect and locate victims trapped in collapse structures after a man-made or natural disaster, such as a hurricane or tornado that may occur anywhere throughout Chester County or the southeastern section of Pennsylvania. Fame is the Lead Company for Structural Collapse Rescue as part of the Chester County Rescue Task Force and carries a wide array of specialized search, stabilization, breaching and breaking equipment to rescue trapped victims.
