Shortly before 1 am, Station 53, Ambulance 55 and Medic 91 were dispatched to West Strasburg Rd east of N. Creek Rd in East Bradford Twp for a serious accident. West Chester PD arrived and reported two subjects trapped in an overturned vehicle. Rescue 53 responded quickly with six technicians. Fame units arrived to find a single vehicle accident that was on it's roof against an embankment and telephone pole with two victims heavily entrapped. Engine and Squad 53 arrived shortly thereafter and assisted the Rescue crew. Cribbing, high pressure airbags, Hurst Rescue Tools and Sawz-alls were all put to use in this difficult rescue. The first victim was extricated within thirty minutes and transported to Paoli Hospital Trauma Center. The second victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene and was pronounced deceased by paramedics. It took rescue crews an additional 30 minutes to free this victim. Air 52 (Good Will) was also dispatched to assist the West Chester PD during the investigation.
