| At 0925 hours, Station 53 along with Station 55 Ambulance and Medic 91 were dispatched to the West Chester Senior Center for the report of a car into the building. Assistant 53 arrived and established Union Street Command and reported a car struck the building, negative entrapment, but structural damage to the building. Rescue 53 arrived and crews went to the interior to inspect the structural members. Crews remained on scene for a short period of time.
Soon after returning to the station, Stations 53 and 52 were dispatched for the Gas Leak Inside at the Great Clips on Wilmington Pike. Complainants reported a strong smell of gas in and around the store front. Rescue 53 and Engine 53 arrived an investigated a smell of gas in several shops along the strip. Crews found and located the source to be from a burner left slightly open in the neighboring pizza shop. Crews naturally ventilated the structure and cleared shortly before 1100 hours. |
