Working Fire in The Borough

Early this morning, WCFD crews were dispatched to a reported House Fire in the 500 block of Mayfield Avenue. Chester County Fire Radio stated the caller had a fire in a home office and were evacuating. Assistant 51 (Pelna) arrived to find a three-story single dwelling with smoke showing. he requested the Working Fire Dispatch. Assistant 52 (Stafford) established Mayfield Command. Engine 51-1 stretched an 1 3/4" hoseline and quickly extinguished the fire. Engine 52-2 and Ladder 53 conducted searches, secured the utilities and performed ventilation. With the quick fire extinguishment, Command scaled back the assignment to the first 2 Engines and Ladder 53 and recalled the Working Fire Dispatch. EMS evaluated the occupants due to exposure to smoke, but no transport was required. The fire is being investigated the the WCPD and the Chester County Fire Marshals Office.
