Members Complete Water Rescue Training

Today, six Fame members completed the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission Water Rescue and Emergency Response course. Firefighters Matt Cohen, Matt Glass, Jonathon House, Walt Missimo, Jessica Smith and Scott Talley completed the 16 hour training program taught by WhiteCap Water Rescue Training and sponsored by Station 24 (Kennett Fire Company). Students demonstrated proficiency in swimming, self rescue techniques and various in-water skills. The swim practical was held at the Lionville YMCA and the day-long in water practical session was held in the Schuykill River in Lower Merion Township. These additional trained and certified personnel help us stay ready and able to respond to any swiftwater emergency.
