Just after 11 pm, units from Stations 51, 53 and Ambulance 55 were dispatched to S. Darlington Street and Holly Alley for a dwelling fire. Chester County Communications also began to receive multiple calls reporting a dwelling on fire and reports of explosions. West Chester PD located a dwelling in the 100 block of West Union Street with fire showing. Based on these reports, the Working Fire Dispatch was transmitted bringing Station 52 and Station 54/56 (Goshen Fire Company) for RIT.

Assistant 51 (Pelna) advised Chester of the corrected street address and reported a three story brick end of the row with fire showing from the second floor. Crews arrived and deployed multiple hose lines to confine and extinguish the fire. Fire had extended to the attached exposure across the rear porch area. The fire was placed under control within 30 minutes. Station 39 (West Bradford Fire Company) also assisted on the fireground. No injuries were reported, however one dog was pulled from the fire and unfortunately was not able to be resuscitated and died. The fire is being investigated by the Chester County Fire Marshal's Office.

Thanks also to Ladder 25 (Longwood Fire Company) and Engine 5-2 (East Whiteland Fire Company) for covering Fame while we were working.
