It was a busy weekend at the station. Six members were enrolled in a Special Vehicle Rescue class being held at the West Chester Fire Training Center and sponsored by Berwyn Fire Company. On Saturday morning, Rescue 53 had arrived at the Fire School and poured their first cup of coffee when Stations 53, 39 (West Bradford), 55 and Medic 91 were dispatched to Price Street and S. Brandywine Street in West Chester Borough for an accident with entrapment. Rescue 53's crew responded with 6 members and quickly arrived on scene. They found a two-vehicle accident with one occupant trapped. The crew removed the driver's side of the vehicle to gain access and remove the victim. She was transported to the hospital by EMS crews. Rescue 53 returned to the Fire School to complete the day of training.

Saturday also saw several members work on configuring our new Collapse Rescue Trailer. Senior FFs Steve Amway, Mark McCarthy, Jim Leon, Joe Solecki and FF Glenn Mains completed the project and successfully moved all of our collapse and trench rescue equipment into the new trailer and configured the existing Collapse Trailer into the new Trench Rescue trailer.

Sunday morning was Day 2 of the Special Vehicle Rescue class and Rescue 53 was once again at the Fire School. While there, Ladder 53 was dispatched to West Bradford Twp for a dwelling fire. The Ladder crew operated for several hours at a well involved dwelling on fire.

We'll post some photos from the fire later today!
