Two Fame members graduated from the Chester County Public Safety Training Center's Firefighter 1 program this evening. Matt Cohen and Jun-Oh Yoon successfully completed more than 180 hours of basic firefighting training and are the newest certified firefighters at Fame. FF Yoon was selected by his classmates to be their class spokesperson. He spoke at the ceremony about their time in the Academy and how each of the students were challenged beyond their comfort zones and how they learned to trust one another. He noted that this is just the first step in their journey to learn all they can to be a productive part of our team. FF Cohen worked hard to also complete the program, all the while caring for his three young children AND training for and completing an Iron Man competition!

WCFD Chaplain Jerry Schwartz was the key note speaker and challenged each of the graduates to learn as much as they can and become what he has become..."an old firefighter". The Officers and Members of Fame wish each of the graduates a long and safe volunteer career.

Congratulations to Matt and Jun-Oh on your accomplishment! We look forward to great things from each of you.
