Early this afternoon, WCFD units (Stations 52 & 53) and Good Fellowship EMS (Station 55) were dispatched to the 500 block of Marshall Drive in West Chester Borough for a house fire. Ladder 53 responded within minutes of dispatch with Engines 53 and 52-2 shortly thereafter. Units arrived to find fire showing from a 2 story Cape Cod style dwelling. The Working Fire Dispatch was transmitted bringing Station 51, Medic 91 and Station 56 (Goshen) for RIT. Ladder 53's crew went to work and was able to keep the fire in check with the pressurized water can while Engine 53 stretched the attack hose line. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished. Extensive overhaul was performed. Rescue, Squad and Utility 53 also made the response. Several household pets were removed and cared for by EMS and WCPD. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Chester County Fire Marshal's Office and WCPD.
Thanks to Ladder 4 (Malvern) for standing by at Fame while our crews were out.
