Why did you join the fire department?

I started in the fire service in 1978 in Haverford Twp. because I wanted to become a paramedic. I have been lucky enough to have worked as a paramedic and a career firefighter/paramedic over the years. I enjoy the work, training and comradery that the fire service provides.
 
What do you like best about being part of the fire department?

The professionalism displayed by members of Fame and the West Chester Fire Department.
 
What is your most memorable incident?

November 2017, Barclays Friends Home Fire
January 1999, Sartomer Company industrial explosion and fire
June 2021, Champlain Towers South building collapse Surfside, FL (FEMA US&R deployment)
 
Fire Department Training Classes

Major interest in Urban Search and Rescue and Technical Search. Numerous fire and rescue classes and certifications...in fact, I have more certifications than Mikey McCarthy!
