Just before 6:30 pm on New Years Day, the West Chester Fire Department and Good Fellowship EMS were dispatched to the 200 block of Blue Rock Road in East Bradford Township for a house fire. The 911 caller reported a significant amount of smoke in the attic and a burning smell. An additional call to 911 reported fire through the roof. Assistant 51 arrived on location and confirmed the callers report. The Working Fire Dispatch was transmitted adding additional resources from the Goshen Fire Company for the Rapid Intervention Team.
Engine 51-2 arrived as the first due engine, laid a supply line up the driveway, and began an interior fire attack on the first floor. Crews located a fire in the attic space and extinguished the same.
Ladder 53 arrived shortly after and backed down a long drive way for optimal positioning. Crews opened up the ceilings for the engine company to extinguish all visible fire.
Engine 53 arrived and assisted the ladder company with opening up the roof.
The fire was placed under control at 7:02 pm. Investigators from the Chester County Fire Marshals Office responded.
