| Last evening our Capital Campaign Fund received a major donation from one of our local employers. Arkema, Inc. (formerly Sartomer) made a significant donation to our Capital Campaign Fund for our building expansion. Ken Sweeney, plant manager for the West Chester Arkema Plant, presented a check for $25,000 to President Don Powers and Co-Chair Bill Ronayne. This donation helped us reach the half way point of our goal of raising $2.5 million dollars. Also in attendance at the check presentation was West Chester Borough Mayor Carolyn Comitta (Honorary Co-Chair), Michael O'Rourke (President of O'Rourke Steel and Honorary Co-Chair) and West Chester Fire Department Fire Chief C. Michael McDonald. Our expansion plan will provide us with much needed space for training, fitness and sleeping quarters. Two additional apparatus bays to house our Technical Rescue equipment and apparatus. It will also provide us with a four-bedroom live in space so we can provide continuous staffing and a rapid response to calls for help.
We are grateful to Arkema for their most generous donation and look forward to reaching our goal this year. If you are interested in making a donation to our Capital Campaign, please stop by the station or check out the information on our homepage. We welcome your help!
