Working Dwelling Fire

Shortly before 0700 hours, Stations 51 and 53 along with 55 Ambulance was dispatched to the 500 Block of River Bend Lane for the reported House on Fire. Assistant 51 (S. Pelna) checked on the air and Chester County advised that the homeowner was reporting a fire in the kitchen and that she had evacuated. Asst. 51 arrived with a 20 by 45 home on stilts with fire showing from the Bravo, Charlie side. Engine 51-1 arrived and hit the plug off the main street and laid in. Ladder 53 (Lt. McCarthy) arrived and sent its manpower up, split, and conducted an interior search and opened up the roof. Engine 53 (Lt. Helmke) arrived and completed Engine 51-1's lay as it was close to a 2000' stretch to the hydrant. Engine 51-2 picked up the hydrant. Assistant 53 (K. Corcoran) had water supply. Chief 53 (McDonald) arrived and assumed command. Station 52 units arrived on scene and assisted with manpower and overhaul. Station 39 was added for additional manpower. Fire was contained with heavy smoke and heat damage throughout the structure. FM 100 and PSP Fire Marshall on scene conducting the investigation.
